Formatting a National ITS Architecture in Israel:

In 2007, the Ministry of transport initiated through the Chief Scientist Department a move to develop a national architecture for intelligent transport systems. ITS Israel decided to take an active part in this move, in the same manner that other ITS organizations around the world took in their own countries.

According to this decision, the organization was invited to participate in a steering committee, nominated by the Scientist Department in the Ministry of Transport, which deals with the architecture development. The organization actively participated in two architecture workshops in 2007 and was a full partner in the decision to adopt the American architecture as the base for the development of the national Israeli architecture.

Estimations for support in architecture implementation in ITS Projects:

According to the managing board, ITS Israel is committed to supporting the Ministry of transport's initiative of developing a national ITS architecture in Israel. The organization considers both its governmental and private members to be a unique advantage that will allow it to implement this working methodology in the widest section possible.

On July 7-8, 2008, a seminar was conducted concerning methodology and tools for ITS architecture development. The seminar was conducted with the participation of the users' union, ILTAM. ITS and ILTAM gathered to expand the awareness of factors in the industries in using the system engineering methodology used to develop intelligent transport systems. The seminar was led by Dr. Robert Jaffe, who accompanies the development process of the ITS architecture in the U.S.A. from its beginning ten years ago.

ITS purchased the rights to transfer the knowledge of intelligent transport systems development process management, including a license to Consystec ITS architecture management and update program. The goal of this process is to create the possibility to provide support services to projects in issues such as organization interfaces, standing in obligating standards, standing in functional demands and standing in general state instructions. The support services will be available to both government and private project.
